ECO-CATCH is a pioneering EU-funded initiative dedicated to transforming fisheries in the Baltic and North Sea through innovation and sustainability. Led by DTU Aqua, the project unites scientists, industry leaders, and certification bodies to create practical solutions that reduce environmental impact while supporting profitable fishing.
ECO-CATCH will deliver ten ready-to-use innovations designed to protect marine habitats, reduce bycatch of juvenile and protected species, and improve the efficiency and value of seafood production. By bridging scientific research with real-world application, ECO-CATCH is setting a new standard for responsible and sustainable fishing across European waters.

Below you can read about updates from the project and Anchor Lab's contributions.
We’re excited to be part of the newly launched EU project, ECO-CATCH! In the last week of June 2025, Anchor Lab attended the kick-off meeting hosted by DTU Aqua at their Hirtshals facilities.
Funded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), ECO-CATCH brings together scientists, industry leaders, and certification bodies to transform 10 promising innovations into practical tools for reducing bycatch and protecting marine habitats. With a focus on the Baltic and North Sea, and in collaboration with sister projects in the Arctic, Atlantic, and Mediterranean, ECO-CATCH aims to promote sustainable fisheries and healthier marine ecosystems across Europe.
We look forward to contributing to the project and will be sharing updates as the work progresses. A page dedicated to ECO-CATCH updates will soon be available on our website, and to learn more about the project, check out the LinkedIn page of the ECO-CATCH Project.
